Joe Habbaki is the Owner and Director of TONI&GUY Armadale, having built up his career through key tenants of business, education, competition and artistry. Joe started his career as an apprentice in 2004, and has since progressed through the industry, winning many awards and becoming a key figure in the TONI&GUY salon business and education team.
Beyond his love of educating other hairdressers, Joe has a passion for business management, and has worked tirelessly to achieve his dream of operating a hair salon. Early on in his career Joe elevated his skills by completing a two-year part-time business development course, providing him with the knowledge and understanding he required to own and manage his own salon. With this experience he was able to open his salon within the award-winning TONI&GUY family, setting up his branch of the business in Armadale.
Joe’s talents expand to the editorial sphere, and he has worked on set as a freelance session stylist, with his work published in renowned national publicationssuch as marie claire, InStyle, Harper’s BAZAAR, Elle and Fashion Journal.
Throughout his career Joe has had a strong focus on competition and has been rewarded for his many efforts. In 2007 he earned first place for both men’s and women’s cuts in Hair & Beauty Industry Association (HBIA) and International Hair Society (IHS) state competitions.
He has continued to build his award and competition experience from there, being a finalist in the categories of Hair Expo Apprentice of the Year and Hair Expo Photographic Collection of the Year in 2007, for his first ever collection. In 2017 he was named as a finalist for Hair Expo Victorian Hairdresser of the Year and a key member to the finalist team for Hair Expo Education business of the year. More personally, Joe at 31 years of age is a married father of one whose achievements and career progressions are driven by his extreme devotionto his family.
Professionally, he remains passionate about every facet of the Australian hair and fashion industry, and has worked resolutely for many years to achieve his goals and continues to contribute to the industry in education, editorial endeavours and business management. Joe’s unwavering love for hairdressing will find him in good stead as he continues these pursuits.
